Member Benefits

The following is a list of member benefits afforded active members of the DeKalb Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 10.  All life insurance coverage is included in your benefits as a member for the yearly dues of $85.

1. $10,000 Life Benefit - Life benefit is paid when member dies from any cause.  There are no exceptions.
2. $15,000 Accidental Death Benefit - Accident death benefit is paid in addition to the life benefit when a member dies from accidental bodily injury.  The following are exceptions: suicide, self inflicted injury, disease, bodily or mental infirmity, medical or surgical treatment, war, active military duty, substance abuse, driving under the influence of alcohol, travel or flight in an airplane unless as a fare-paying passenger on a regularly scheduled flight or it is in the line of duty.
3. $15,000 Line of Duty Benefit - Line of duty benefit is paid in addition to the life and accidental death benefit when an active at work member is killed in the line of duty.

In addition to the Local Lodge benefits, the State Lodge offers the following benefits at NO EXTRA COST:

1. $1,000 Life Benefit - This benefit is paid when member dies from any cause.  There are no exceptions.
2. $7,500 Accidental Death - This benefit is paid in addition to the above benefits when a member dies from accidental bodily injury, or exposure or loss of life due to adverse weather conditions or disappearance for 365 days after the date of the accident.
3. $7,500 Line of Duty Benefit - This benefit is paid in addition to the life and accidental death benefits when an active at work member is killed in the line of duty.
4. $3,750 Occupational Assault - This benefit is paid in addition to the life, accidental death and line of duty benefits when an active at work member's loss of life occurs as the result of an act of physical violence.
5. $7,500 Common Carrier - This benefit is paid in addition to the life and accidental death benefit while the member is a fare-paying passenger on qualifying public transportation.
