"Education is key to the success of every FOP member's career and this
program will provide a method of achieving their goals of obtaining higher
education while performing their duties as law enforcement professionals."
- National President Chuck Canterbury
The Fraternal Order of Police University (FOPU) is a consortium of colleges and
universities who will provide members of the National FOP with multi-varied
learning programs. These programs are traditional and non-traditional forums.
The formation of FOPU allows FOP members the ability to take courses which will
accommodate the unique necessities of a working law enforcement officer's
schedule. These courses can be taken on-line which will make it easier for our
members to obtain their degrees. All the colleges and universities who are
participating are accredited institutions.
There is no cost to the NFOP and our members could receive anywhere from a ten
percent (10%) to twenty percent (20%) reduction in tuition and/or credit for
past degree work, POST training and FBI Academy training.
None of the universities or colleges have a campus visit / residency requirement
nor do they require the GRE/GMAT tests.
